Initial situation

The customer’s initial packaging was a stand-up pouch, for dried pet food made of a layer combination of PET and PE. The material mix oft his composite film limited its recyclability.

Packaging transformation

The target was to find a solution which is suitable for 100% recycling without sacrificing the protection of the filling good.

Mono material
100% recyclable
Zipper material similar to pouch material

We replaced the PET Layer by an additional PE layer, creating a double-layer PE solution. Due to its mono-material composition, the bag is now 100 % recyclable. The new packaging is equipped with a PE-based zipper which ensures the re-closeability of the pouch.
